Adult fun weekend at Stevens Ranch

We all had a great time at Stevens Ranch for Adult Fun Weekend. Mrs. Shana participated in classes preparing to take the girls camping. She learned how to choose a site, prepare it and leave no trace rules. Mrs. Crystal took Survival 101 and learned how to create emergency shelter, she can't wait to share with the girls. Mrs. April and Mrs. Lynn made some adorable containers for growing plants in recycled materials. Girls be watching out for fairies to join your troop in the near future. Mrs. Lynn took archery and Mrs. April took S.W.A.P.'s. Several of us decided it was time to try knot tying...Mrs. Shana didn't do so well here. Needs more practice. Our troop will be trying their hand at tying knots soon. We also enjoyed the company of other adult Girl Scouts and learning the proper way to retire a flag. Now for the girls: this was a new experience for many, but the all survived the weekend without flush toilets, running water, electronics and electricity. They earned the Polar Bear patch for camping in sub-freezing weather. Yes, it was that cold!! We enjoyed our adventure and are looking forward to the next camping experience. Pictures to come soon.
